Translating the western landscape has been a process of discovery both in the contrasts and similarities found in the vistas of Vermont, where I paint regularly.

The body of work titled “Still Present” represents a perspective three fold; 

Firstly, after a strange moment in history via the global pandemic we still remain, translating ourselves and our surroundings, presenting through our art. Secondly, when our minds become still in our creative process, it becomes present in our work, thus felt by our viewers. Lastly, through my observation of the landscape in and around Montana and Yellowstone, I am in constant remembrance that this landscape  belongs to the indigenous peoples, who recognized the masterpiece of the natural world and left it unaltered and present to absorb still.
